The Mercedes-Benz JuniorCup
The Mercedes-Benz JuniorCup is a great success story. Since January 1991, the biggest U19 soccer talents meet and measure for two days every year. Within the tournament the trainees of Daimler AG plants determine their best teams as well.
The figures speak for the quality of the tournament: 103 teams from 41 different nations played in 27 years at the JuniorCup. 87 participants became national player of their country later on, 21 German national players played at Sindelfingen and five of them became world champions this year: Manuel Neuer, Sami Khedira, Mesut Özil, Benedikt Höwedes and Christoph Kramer.
Sindelfingen was and is the starting point of great playing careers - but also great coaches were at the JuniorCup: Carlos Dunga, Ralf Rangnick, Thomas Tuchel, Tayfun Korkut and many more.
Patron of the tournament is Oliver Bierhoff, DFB - Teammanager, for many years now.
The Glaspalast Sindelfingen is well-filled for years and the supporting programme is excellent. The media are reporting in detail and sports TV will even broadcast live. Experts meet at the edge of the boards to exchange views on skills of the young talents. Far beyond the borders of the region the JuniorCup has become a real trademark.
At January, 6 and 7, 2017 the tournament took place for the 27th time now.
