SK Rapid Wien
Even though it is not going too well for Rapid Wien at this moment, one thing is always present: their great playing ability. This is why the U1 9 of the club won the title at the Glaspalast in Sindelfingen last year. They are not only the titleholders but also the discovery of the tournament. Even after a 23-year long tournament break, the Rapid team played from the start a strong role and marched through the tourney. In the finals, the team won against the Bundesliga young talents from Hoffenheim. Just like last year, the team will have to rediscover themselves again. Austria has youth leagues in the U15, U16 and U18, but no U19 group. As a result, the Rapid team consists of a mixture of U18 players as well as 19 year-olds, which have already played in Rapids second team.
The new coach of the team is Muhammet Akagündüz, a former Rapid striker and an Austrian national player. He has already proven that he can win the title; last season, he became Austrian Champion with Rapids U16 team. Now he is aiming to become the titleholder at the Glaspalast.
